I finally sat down and calendared my daily life and found WHY I feel like a chicken with my head cut off. So, here is a list of my many daily jobs and the skills I've acquired over the years...

- Chef (moved up to top chef now)
- Laundress (every day of my life)
- Chauffeur (From morning til night)
- Financial Planner (Retirement? Hopefully!)
- Accountant (Why are there more debits than credits here?)
- Driver's Ed Instructor (Keep both hands on the WHEEL!)
- Babysitter (those neighborhood children keep coming over - I'm glad my kids are popular)
- Teacher (Preschool thru high school)
- Tutor (high school and beyond)
- Academic Counselor (college bound children)
- Time Management Instructor (Get those chores done and then you can play!)
- Nurse (The many, many boo-boo's I've kissed)
- Naturopathic Doctor (AH we love natural remedies)
- Personal Hygiene monitor (Get back in there and wash your hair this time!)
- Sex Ed instructor (kissing gives you C-O-O-T-I-E-S!)
- Hallway monitor (Why are you out of bed again?)
- Plumber (the toilet has been clogged too many times to remember)
- Dish Washer (enough said!)
- Networking Specialist (I must be more savoy than my kids to keep up with the times)
- Decorator
- Electrician (I'm the only one who can hook up the electronics in our home)
- Painter
- Carepet Cleaner

I know there is a lot more but my brain is starting to hurt! Please feel free to add your own ideas to this list.
I thought of a couple more: College Student
ReplyDeleteStake Transcriptionist
I came across your blog I think because you are a friend of a friend of a friend! Funny, but I am 26 with 2 kids and I have a couple medical problems one being back issues for the past 4 years. I have been going to numerous chiros and physical therapy until i found these AMAZING doctors who do a minimaly invasive surgery....I'm like you, surgery is the last thing I want to do. But this is breakthrough stuff for people who's herniated disks keep coming back. basically its a 45 min. procedure where they go in with a scope and repair the herniation and seal up the disk so it won't flare up and press on the nerve anymore. If your interested look at the website www.sciatica.com. I am very all natural, finding these doctors have been a blessing and I truly believe that my other medical problems have developed because of the constant physical stress on my body due to my back. I believe there are all kinds of stress and any creates toxins in our body. check it out. Im having the provedure done in a week and I'll let you know how it goes. oh by the way the procedure they don't put you under anesthesia, which is great.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget the time it takes to be a wife, mother (I guess most of those things are "motherly" and a sister, aunt, friend, neighbor, missionary, peacemaker, you're right the list could go on forever.
ReplyDeleteWhat about saleswoman?
ReplyDeleteTrue - I did focus on many of the motherly issues. I realized that I forgot several of my more time consuming things like college student, transcriptionist, and saleswoman. I could add tons more. I'm sure that we all wear many hats every day.
ReplyDeletedanelley - I recently looked at www.sciatica.com because a friend woman from our home school support group told me about it. I am interested in seeing how your surgery goes. I hope it helps. The woman I spoke with said it has helped her a lot, but her recovery time has been slower than she would like. i guess we all want a miracle instant fix.
