I have given birth to three wonderful children, two with an epidural and one "el-natural". On Sunday I seriously thought I was going into labor, which would be quite a surprise considering I would have had no idea I was pregnant. I could just see myself on one of those shows, saying, "I had no idea I was pregnant. I thought I was just getting fatter."
No to mention, that my husband would need an inhaler and emergency room bed next to me because he would immediately assume I'm cheating...
Well - luckily I was not in labor, just "giving birth" to a kidney stone. I thought men who said it was like giving birth were seriously exaggerating. They are not, not really. On my list of pain - natural childbirth without an epidural is a "10" on the pain level and the kidney stones where a "9". The only difference is not getting a cute little baby!
I am home today and mending...let's just hope that I N-E-V-E-R go through that again.
oh, yowza, so sorry to hear about that! Glad you are feeling better, I'm sure you're right, a stone isn't as rewarding as a cute baby.
ReplyDeleteOh man! I am soo sorry no fun!
ReplyDeleteYikes! I've heard that, too, but never been fortunate enough to have one. I'll take your word for it and hope to never experience it myself!!
ReplyDeleteYIKES!! Do you need anything?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the well wishes. I am doing much better today.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your "fun time"
ReplyDeleteThose things are TERRIBLE!
Love ya
Hi! I just saw your post and had to leave a comment. I was in the hospital a week ago with my 1st stone. I was vomiting & praying to die. I have given birth to 2 children (1 with a 4th degree episodomy and a c-section)
ReplyDelete& the pain of a kidney stone was worse! The recovery isn't as bad but the initial pain is as 12 on a 1-10 scale! Just curious - did you recently give birth? They told me childbirth may have caused my stones (I have 3 others in there) Just hoping they don't move! :)

Hi Brandy - I have not given birth recently. My youngest child is 11. I am having a "Kidney Stone Formation" lab test done. I guess it is supposed to tell what kind of extra minerals are in the urine. I have not gotten the results yet. This is the 2nd stone I've had now in the past 3 months. Not fun!!
ReplyDeleteThey "blasted" my stones so I didn't have anything to collect for them. I got back for x-rays in the a.m. to make sure they completely turned the stone to dust.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you've had 2 in 3 months! Ouch!
