Review: "Core and Love of Learning: A Recipe for Success"

I recently purchased the CD's "Core and Love of Learning: A Recipe for Success" by Oliver and Rachel DeMille from the George Wythe College bookstore. This is a must for others using the Thomas Jefferson Education or Leadership Education model. I could hardly stop listening to the over 5 hours of CD's to run the kids where they needed to be and make dinner. LOL

Some key features:
  • The 1st CD discusses how the current public education model came into effect and why it is broken.
  • The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th CD's give "ingredients" or elements of implementing TJed in your home. It is very warm and the DeMille's come across very "real". They show how they are just like most of us, caring parents who value their children's education.
  • The 4th CD, when placed into your computer, also has graphics and charts. There is a short movie touching on more ingredients for success and several printable charts for use while listening to the first CD.
I highly recommend these CD's for anyone currently homeschooling or thinking about homeschooling their children. These CD's can also be highly educational for parents whose children attend school through the public education system, but want to improve their parenting skills and teach their children how to think for themselves.

  1. how much do the CD's run you? just curious. I've been thinking more about home schooling. not for much more than the fact that i love having my kids home. it makes me sad that the school schedule dictates our home schedule - for everything from when we go where to how much vacation we can have. i know that is a fact of life but... well that's what is on my mind. :)
