What do you do for General Conference?

I like to help keep my children engaged during General Conference. Our children are old enough to watch all four sessions, and Chris will head off to the Priesthood Session with his dad next April. I found a few things to use this year with our older children and I'm including a few things I found along the way for littles as well.

For Littles:
In April I had linked to some others in my AZLDSHSA.org website.

Please post what you have too!

  1. I got an email the other day with a conference packet for the little ones, it has games, pictures to color and lots of other fun stuff :)

  3. The conference bingo cards work great for the kids. We have bought candy corn for Oct's conference and jelly beans for April's. We've also done the "color the tie" of certain apostles. I printed the packets last year and it ended up more work and mess than I had desired...plus we found they weren't paying attention to the conference. They were more interested in the fun games and stuff- talking amongst each other about what they found for different games. I think I will pick and choose the pages this year out of the packets because there are definitely some good ones!

  4. I also feel like sometimes the kids are too interested in the packets and not in conference.

A friend posted on a home school group that she tells her kids they will need to teach a FHE on one topic discussed in conference. She tells them to take notes about the topic so they can share their testimony about how they felt when they watched it on TV as part of their lesson. I think I'm going to try that this year rather than a packet. My kids are plenty old enough to take notes and plan a lesson.
