I have come to the conclusion that a college education is not much of an education at all. Sure, I learned small amounts about literature, web-design, math, and history...but, my current readings have taught me far more than what I learned in college. I feel so blessed to have found Leadership Education (a.k.a. Thomas Jefferson Education) and to be experiencing this for myself while my children are still young to learn at home in a way that makes their education truly theirs and not some rubber-stamp education provided by the government. I hope that everyone who reads this post will continue their education by reading the good books from the great minds of history.
I have only cracked the surface!
WOWOOWOWOWOOOO!!!
ReplyDeleteTHat is AWESOME Celeste!! Way to go!!!! =)
You are such an inspiration.. more so than you know.... I have hit a bot of a hard spot.... having to read books that are not my first choice.. and thus they are taking me longer... but I plan to endure to the end... and make it all the way!!!
THank you so much for your example!!! I am soo proud of you!!! I bet the family is as well!!
Congrats!! Hugs!
Awesome Celeste!! Maybe you should post a link (you probably already have) to the 5 Pillar list you're talking about...for those who haven't a clue what you're talking about. I am anxious to finish it myself, but that won't be for a L O N G
ReplyDeletetime. :) Congrats, give yourself some kind of reward.
You are a good example. Our lesson in SS this week was on learning and you have set an incredible example for that.
ReplyDeleteThere is a link to the 5 Pillar Certification posting that explains things a little bit. But, it is basically an education based certificate that requires reading several books and reporting about them. I highly recommend it to everyone.
ReplyDeleteIt was hard to read books that were not MY selections. I struggled with reading non-fiction, I like a good story, and especially understanding some of the older selections that were written in more difficult terminology.
GOOD JOB! I haven't made that a goal yet, but I the book lists and I've read all of Level 1 and over 1/3 of Level 2. I haven't written papers though! Thanks for the encouragement.
ReplyDeleteI haven't felt the pull to do it yet, as I've felt pulled in several other directions with my education. I'm glad to know you enjoyed it!
Good job again, that's a great accomplishment!
