10 Days Sick and Counting

I know...I'm a big BAWL BABY and complaining about being sick still. This is seriously the sickest I've been in years...at least since I had walking pneumonia a few years ago. I think I pretty much had it again, but I didn't go to the doctor since I don't think I have an infection. There ya have it...too stupid cheap to go to the doctor since we have not met our deductible yet this year.

I was feeling better yesterday and then woke up this morning with a swollen, red, nasty feeling throat and both ears hurting. *sigh* I guess I'm going to continue being sick for a while longer. Time to switch to new herbs and meds for these new symptoms.

Anyway, so I have not posted anything new about homeschooling, packing, or what-not about our lives. Here is the basic run down...

  • Still homeschooling even when sick...of course! What else would I be doing?
  • Still packing to move in a few weeks...duh!
  • The earth still rotates around the sun and the moon still rotates around the earth...wow! Who knew?
I'll have to catch-up on the other stuff some other time. Right now...I'm just surviving and trying to pack while still trying to get over being sick...it's not working very well for me. Go figure?

  1. ohhh... no fun... Hope you get better soon!!!

I just read an email the other day about putting cut onion all around your house to absorb sickness.... Try it and see if it helps!!

You put a half a cut onion on a fork.. and put the fork part in a glass.... sit it next to your bed over night and see what it looks like in the morning.....

Big hugs... and hang in there!!! (cant believe you guys are moving even farther away!!! shessh....)

  3. I hear you! I was never so sick either, and had the swollen throat-so bad that I had triple chins! Hope you feel better really soon, you can't be sick when you have so much stuff to do.

  4. P.S.
It looks as though you need to start moderating your comments above! Sometimes people stink, and I don't mean Jen or Jess.

  6. I'm finally starting to feel better today. It's amazing what a little antibiotics will do. I'm still ticked that I needed them, since I have so much trouble with Candida when I take antibiotics. Let's hope they don't start a year long curse!

Thank you for all the well-wishes here on the blog and on Facebook. I have such awesome friends and family.

  7. Celeste,

Taking lactobacillus acidophilus after you finish your course of antibiotics will help with the candida. You can get the capsules at New Frontiers in a refrigerated section. They also make great night suppositories if you get vaginal yeast infections. The lactobacillus bacteria are the natural flora in your body that eats candida; these floras get killed off with antibiotics so replacing them after you are done with the antibiotics will help get rid of the candida.

Also, elderberry juice frozen into pops helps soothe the sore throat and the elderberry fights viruses. You can also drink it three times a day to help. Honey in hot herbal tea helps fight bacteria as does fresh garlic and onions cooked in a broth. I hope these ideas help!

  8. Thanks Cassandra. I always take probiotics after taking antibiotics, but it sometimes doesn't help for a while. Let's hope it does this time.

On Sunday morning my email account was hit by something and I couldn't access it. Then my blog disappeared completely to which I almost ...
