A Pleasant Surprise...

The other night we sat out on the porch and I looked up to see a pile of sticks on top of the porch light. I thought, "Why did Christian put those sticks up there?" Upon closer inspection I realized we have neighbors...cute little birdie neighbors!


A warm, safe place for a nest out of the wind...


...with three babies percolating.

We've seen the mama bird several times and now I realize why the songs she sings are so loud...they are right outside the back door! These eggs are American Robin and will someday look like this...

    I knew what they were as soon as I saw the eggs! Thats why they call the color "Robins" egg blue. I loved listening to them sing outside our window and also the red and blue cardinals you get in the midwest. So pretty! Thanks for the stroll down memory lane! It is so cool that you are getting to experience things I grew up with! We will have more in common!

    Something happened to the Momma bird and she abandoned her nest. There are 4 eggs in there instead of three and we are not sure what happened. :-(
